Tree Trimming & Pruning

Good pruning is not a haircut. It removes the dead, diseased and crossing limbs that block air and light, takes weight off weak unions before a Georgia thunderstorm does it for you, and keeps branches clear of your roof, gutters and driveway.

How it works

Three steps, no surprises

1

Assess the tree

We look at structure, not just size: weak attachments, rubbing limbs, dieback and how the tree sits against your house.

2

Make the right cuts

Proper cuts at the branch collar, no topping, no flush cuts, so the tree seals and stays strong.

3

Clean up completely

Every limb and leaf is chipped or hauled, and the lawn is raked before we leave.

Questions

Trimming & Pruning FAQ

When is the best time to prune trees in Georgia?

Late winter, before spring growth, is ideal for most hardwoods. Dead, hazardous or roof-rubbing limbs can be removed any time of year.

Do you top trees?

No. Topping leaves weak, fast-growing sprouts and open wounds. We use crown reduction and thinning instead, which lowers weight without wrecking the tree.

How often should trees near my house be trimmed?

Every two to three years for most mature trees. Fast growers like Bradford pears, silver maples and water oaks may need it more often.
