Ground 6 to 12 inches below grade, deeper on request for replanting
Surface roots ground out on request
Backfilled and leveled, chips left as mulch or hauled
Access through standard gates, so back yards are no problem

How it works

Mark it

We locate the stump, check for irrigation, cable and gas lines, and confirm the depth you need.

Grind it

The grinder chews the stump and major surface roots into chips below grade.

Fill it

The hole is backfilled with the chips or with topsoil if you plan to sod or plant.

Why grind a stump instead of leaving it?

Old stumps are breeding grounds for subterranean termites, carpenter ants and wood fungus, and they send up sprouts for years. Grinding neutralizes all of that.

Can I plant grass or a new tree where the stump was?

Yes. Tell us ahead of time and we will grind deeper and backfill with topsoil so the spot is ready for sod, seed or a new planting.

Do you grind stumps from trees you did not remove?

Yes. We grind stumps from any tree, whoever cut it down.
